    Translated Interview

On Monday, played the amazing band Mumford & Sons for the first time in Sweden. Nyheter24 met the band for a little snack at Debaser Slussen, just hours before the gig.

Mumford & Sons consists of the four London lads Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwan.

The band was formed in late 2007. In the beginning they played their beautiful melodies along with the likes of Laura Marling, but released the fall of 2009 their debut album - Sigh No More - and started a big hype.

Mumford & Sons Music is a mix of emotional moments and joyous dance tunes. A real drama, in fact, hit one straight to the heart.

Last Monday was Debaser Slussen honor to host the band’s first gig Sweden. Nyheter24 met two of the band members - Ben Lovett and Country Winston.

A couple of very nice guys - almost scary nice.

On your website it says that you are making music that is important, without taking yourself too seriously. What does that mean?

    - Oh, that’s something that any journalist has written. Our music is not important, said Ben Lovett.

So how would you describe your music?

    - Each song is different and should be treated differently. There is no consistent theme. The music is about emotions and encounters with people, says Country Winston.

    What gives you inspiration?

    - I am inspired by everything! It can be myself, Miles David, or MGMT. Although a meeting like this is inspiring. We intercepts situations and turn them into print, says Country Winston.

    - Everything we sing about, we have in one way or another have experienced, said Ben Lovett.

How has your music changed since you started?

    - From being very acoustic with banjo and piano, we have gone over to some more drums and rock, says Country Winston.

You know, not very rock, rather a bunch of guys calm pure-wool.

    - Yes, we are definitely not rock stars. We are not cool or controversial, and we do not drink and have sex. We make music because we can not do anything else. This is what we love. In addition, it gives us free trips and wonderful views, said Ben Lovett.

Jan Gradvall wrote in DI Weekend that you sound like Arcade Fire put on a park bench in Notting Hill garden, where Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant cuddle at the end. Is it true?

    - It’s a blast written, but not true at all. I love, in itself, Notting Hill, but is a bit cynical. Love is not so beautiful. In the case of Arcade Fire, it’s a band we look up to. But it would be a joke to say that we are as the said Country Winston.

What had you heard about Sweden before you came here?

    - I heard you have a good infrastructure. And that everyone gets really very contribution. Then it was the usual course, that there are hot chicks and good football. Fredrik Ljungberg, he likes me. Is not he gay anyway? asks Country Winston.

I do not think so. But speaking of hot - this summer will you play on the same stage as Bob Dylan during The Hop Farm Festival in England - you are famous enough to think that it is not cool?

    - On the contrary! It’s just amazing. I dream about it, said Ben Lovett.

    - It is so great that I have chosen to accept that it does not happen, says Country Winston.

Do you have any plans to visit a Swedish festival?

    - I have heard that Way Out West is really good, but we have time, unfortunately not this year, says Country Winston.

Swedish music is actually the correct queue. Do you have any personal favorites?

    - Lykke Li. She is the best. Sen’s Shout Out Louds cruel, said Ben Lovett.

    - Nina Persson, she is too nice of My Favourite Game, with her tattoo, says Country Winston.

Speaking of “Swedish culture”. Have you heard about the largest bloggerska - Kissie?

    - I’m not sure. Is she similar to Tila Tequila? asks Country Winston.
